Tennisscores, kepton your wrist.

Tennis Score is the scoreboard for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad and Mac. One tap per point. The app counts 15, 30, 40, deuce and advantage, games, tiebreaks and sets, and calls the score out loud, server first, like an umpire.

That's the app.

This is the scoring screen from the watch, playable right here. It follows the real tennis rules, just like the app.

  2. 02The serve dot changes every game. In a tiebreak it changes after the first point, then every two points.
  3. 03Break point, set point and match point show on the tile of the player who has them. On the watch the voice calls them out too.
  4. 04Tapped the wrong side? Undo takes it back.

Features

Built for the court, not the menu.

Big tiles, one tap per point, and the rules handled for you. It looks and feels like the Workout app, because it is one: every match can be saved as a workout.

One tap per point

Two huge tiles, blue for you and orange for your opponent. Tap the side that won the point, even mid-rally and without looking for long.

Serve and tiebreak, always right

The serve changes every game. In the tiebreak it changes after the first point, then every two points. The dot shows who serves.

Calls the score

Calls like an umpire: “15, love”, “30 all”, “Deuce”, “Advantage”, and the games after every game. Break point, set point and match point too. Optional streak calls go all the way up to "Godlike".

Undo

Wrong side? One tap takes the last point back, as often as you need.

Change ends

The watch taps your wrist when it is time to change ends: after odd games, and every six points in a tiebreak.

Summary and history

Every set with its games, tiebreaks like 7:6 (5) included, total match time, rematch with one tap. The last 200 matches stay on your device.

Speaks your language

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic and Vietnamese. The voice follows your device language.

Tennis rules in short

How tennis is scored.

The app knows these rules so you don't have to. Here they are anyway, for the next argument at the net.

40

15, 30, 40, game

Points count 15, 30, 40, then game. At 40 all it is deuce: win two points in a row to take the game. With no-ad scoring the next point at deuce decides it.

6

Sets to 6

A set goes to the first player with 6 games and a lead of two. At 6:6 a tiebreak to 7 decides it. Short sets to 4 games are there too.

Bo3

Best of 3

Matches are best of 3 sets by default, or a single set or best of 5. The deciding set can end in a tiebreak, a 10-point tiebreak, a match tiebreak to 10 or an advantage set.

1·3·5

Change ends

Players change ends after the first game of a set and then every two games, and every six points in a tiebreak. Your watch taps you on the wrist when it is time.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does the app count 15, 30, 40?

Yes. The tiles show 0, 15, 30, 40 and AD, with the games of the running set below. At 40 all the app calls deuce, and the player who wins the next point gets the advantage.

Can I play no-ad?

Yes. Turn on no-ad scoring in the settings and the next point at deuce wins the game.

Do I need my iPhone on court?

No. The Apple Watch app runs on its own. Leave the phone in your bag.

How do I score without touching the screen?

Turn on Gesture Scoring in the watch app's settings. Double Tap (tap index finger and thumb together twice) adds a point for you, and Wrist Flick (turn your wrist away and back quickly) adds one for your opponent. Double Tap needs Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2 or newer. Leave gestures off if you wear the watch on your playing arm.

Does the match count as a workout?

On Apple Watch, yes. With Track as workout on, each match is saved to Apple Health as a tennis workout with duration, heart rate and active calories, and it fills your Activity rings. You can turn it off in the settings.

The workout is not saved. What can I do?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, go to Health → Data Access & Devices (or Settings → Health → Apps on the watch), select the app and allow it to write workouts, heart rate and active energy.
